Absolutely awful news

January 2nd, 2009 by Cuiso

I was just watching the news and they said that while vacationing, John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston’s 16 year old son, Jett, died.  He had a seizure while in the bath tub, slipped and hit his head.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

How awful for them.  They also have an 8 year old daughter and can you imagine what she and the whole family are going through?  John and Kelly both are very respected and loved in the entertainment industry and the world as far as that goes.

I hope they know just how much the whole world I’m sure is praying for them.  I know I sure am.  I would not ever want to go through what they are going through.  God bless them.

Are you looking for a web host?

January 2nd, 2009 by Cuiso

There are lots of web sites to check out and maybe learn something from like blogs.  A lot of people are starting new web sites every day.  The only problem is if you’re new at it, then you have to decide which web host is the best for you.  How in the world do you find something like that out?  Well it’s not too hard to find web hosting but you don’t want just any old web host. Some are a lot better than others for one kind of web site and others are better for different types of web sites too.

You have to know what to look for to serve you the best.  If you’re a beginner, then I highly recommend you check out a beginners guide to web hosting.  There are answers to questions you don’t even realize you should be asking yourself or your web host.  Just because a web host is inexpensive doesn’t mean it’s not the best web host for you.  In turn, just because a web host is more expensive than another one, doesn’t mean it’s the right web host for you.  These guys do all the work for you.  They check the different web hosts and can tell you which ones are best for what you want or need.

Christmas was good at our house

December 29th, 2008 by Cuiso

Christmas was different at our house this year but it was still good.  We decided to get each of the children what they needed the most and not just what they wanted the most.  The two oldest are both in school so we gave them money to help with them with other needs they have too.

As for the one that has gotten in over her head with credit cards, well we paid the cards down to half of what she owes and now the rest is up to her.  The two younger ones, Tyler was in need of a laptop computer since it won’t be long before he’s in college like the other three.  We got him the best we could find which was a Dell of course.

Joey!  Joey is the baby and is spoiled like most babies in the families.  He got a Wii game system with a baseball game and a racing game.  I like the Wii because it gets kids off of their rear ends and makes them move in order for them to play.  He spends entirely too much time on his computer and on his rear.  He also got a Kodak Ki6, one of those pocket video cameras that is all the rage now.  He likes to make videos for YouTube and this makes it easy to do that.  All in all, we had a good Christmas.  I hope you did too.

Daughter in over her head

December 23rd, 2008 by Cuiso

I tried to tell my daughter not to get more than one credit card but she just wouldn’t listen.  She took every single credit card that was offered to her.  Needless to say, she ended up with all of them maxed out in no time at all.  I thought I had taught her better about how to handle money and credit.  I guess I didn’t count on her getting so many credit card offers.  It’s ridiculous how they hand out credit cards to 19 year old college students.

She ended up using her credit cards to buy her books instead of using the money we sent her.  She has scholarship money too so it’s not like she didn’t have money to pay for them.  She said she had intended to pay for them when the statements came to help build her credit but then spent the money to pay for them on the ‘cutest clothes’.  Well now she has some serious things to think about.  One of those things is the possibility of trying to Avoid Bankruptcy since she’s in debt now approximately $11,000.

I almost fell over when she told me how much she was in debt to these credit card companies.  She’s having to work extra just to pay the monthly minimum and I can just imagine what it has done to her credit instead of building it like she intended.  She learned a very important lesson and it wasn’t in the classroom either.
